Without a doubt – YES!
It doesn’t matter whether you want to make a career out of this or not. It will still help you in numerous ways. Doodling is actually a drawing which is done when your brain is preoccupied i.e. when you are drawing absent mindedly. But inversely, doodling is the only key that helps you focus in a situation where you are getting bored, like a lecture, a conference, a talk or anything. Doodling helps you remember things, helps you focus and prevents your mind from wandering elsewhere.
Doesn’t matter if you are a student or a working person or a homemaker – doodling will help you with better visual learnings, in relaxing and getting stress out of your mind. It de-clutters your mind, organises and gives a sense of achievement.
And if you are a designer or an artist already, knowing doodling is a boon because you guys won’t just doodle, instead, you will be sketching out ideas, observations, thoughts and what not. For you, filling sketchbooks won’t be about just good artwork, it will be about being a good thinker.
If you are a beginner, then let me tell you, universally, everybody doodles. But knowing how to doodle in a certain way which actually pours your mind onto the paper, will just change how you look at things. Moreover, it will open up many doors of opportunities and will enhance your capabilities.
Doodling is useful, no matter what field you are in or what kind of art form you practise. It is an add on skill, a problem solving technique (I can go on and on about this, but let’s save it for later). And so, I aim to provide a session which you won’t be able to forget. Not if you practise!
